Greatest Generation

Koan Arts worked with a class at Cringleford Primary School on Into Film’s Greatest Generation project focusing on stories from WWII. The class interviewed Fred Carr who was a boy during the war, living in Norwich. His reminiscences inspired the films below.

Fred’s Blitz recounts his experience of an air raid whilst growing up in Norwich during the Second World War. This short film was selected for inclusion in the  British Film Archive.

Fred’s Lucky Escape recounts his experience as a boy of how an American Liberator bomber plane almost crashed on his housing estate in Norwich during the Second World War.
