Wavelength was developed by Koan Arts CIC, initially funded by Awards for All, to give community and social groups the opportunity to create their own audio programmes for broadcast, inclusion on their websites or to promote their aims and objectives.

Groups can use our downloadable guide to production techniques to run sessions independently.  However, for those wanting support, Koan practitioners can be hired to assist in all aspects of programme production from script to edit.

We recommend Zoom H series or Tascam handheld digital recorders for capturing audio.  We have provided a short video guide on how to use Tascam audio recorders here

Wavelength audio project with the national UK organisation, Action For Blind People.

Ko-an Arts CIC worked with two groups of young people during four Saturdays.  The morning group created Twisted Tales looking at a range of traditional stories and creating their own versions.  The older afternoon group looked at issues faced by people with visual impairments. Both groups learnt how to create foley effects and how to develop and create a radio drama.

All of the participants had visual impairments.  Funded by the Big Lottery.  '

Below are two examples of the audio programmes they made, Goldillocks Moneybags and Show Me The Money.
